International Student Assistance at the University of Queensland
Are you an international student studying at the University of Queensland?
Chances are you might not know about several free services available to help you get the most out of your degree. Here are four programs offered through UQ Student Services and designed to assist you in your studies:
Academic Preparation Program (APP)
APP sessions are available for all new international students and topics include writing, study skills, research skills, taking examinations, time management, reading for meaning, referencing correctly, writing for science courses and problem solving. Simply register online once your university place is confirmed.
UQ Student Services Workshops and Seminars
These are run throughout the year. Designed to assist you with developing study, career and life-goals as well as looking after your well-being and managing your learning outcomes, the workshops include such topics as tertiary preparation, career planning, and employment preparation.
Learning Assitance
If you want to improve your learning skills and study efficiency, then you can organise a consultation on a topic such as preparation for examinations, structuring your thesis, tackling assignments, getting more out of lectures and tutorials, and time management.
International Student Advisors
International Student Advisors can assist you with anything from pre-arrival through orientation to departure, including how to manage your money, everyday life in Australia, and a wide range of university and community services available to you.
